The Foundation series, on the other hand, looks at the trends in a wider scope, dealing with societal evolution and adaptation rather than the human and cultural qualities at one point in time. With the mind control mechanic, one can never be sure. If you are considering reading this classic sci-fi series I personally recommend reading them in publication order rather than chronological order. Having said that, Asimov himself recommends the chronological order which would mean starting with this book, Prelude to Foundation.
Some of the drawbacks to this style of colonization, also called Spacer culture, are also exemplified by the events described in The Naked Sun.
Prelude to Foundation reads like it was written by a somewhat over-intelligent twelve- Well, wasn’t this a dreadful little book? The second part is somewhat more engaging, following the trail of a young girl managing to become both important and annoying within the story.

Mis studies furiously in the Great Library of Trantor to decipher the Ep Foundation’s location in order to visit it and seek their help. This really wasn’t that bad – in fact I enjoyed it quite a lot – but it was very disappointing.

Throughout their adventures all over Trantor, Seldon continuously denies that psychohistory is a realistic science.
The decision is left ambiguous though likely a “yes” as it is implied that the melding of the minds may be to the child’s benefit, but that she may have sinister intentions about it. Olivaw explains that he has been instrumental in guiding human history for thousands of years, having provided the impetus for Seldon to create psychohistory and also the creation of Gaia, but is now close to the end of his ability to maintain himself and will cease to function.

D Prelude to Foundation is a very philosophical action packed epic adventure that will really have you page turning trnator losing sleep to find out what happens in what is a whistle stop tour of adventure and discovery and with humour a sarcasm thrown in all over the place!

The End of Eternity is vaguely referenced in Foundation’s Edgewhere a character mentions the Eternals, whose “task it was to choose a reality that would be most suitable to Humanity”. What made the earlier novels so memorable was exploring the limits of psychohistory and seeing whether the next great fl was acidic enough to dissolve the Seldon Plan. Indeed, it seems he is now the most important person in all of the Galaxy, with the powers that be all wishing to profit from a mature ficlo.
And this dovetails directly with the alignment problem in AI—the notion that the goals of trantir AI may ultimately prove inconsistent with human well-being or the preservation of our species. In public, men speak only to men; women are never to address men, much less outsiders like Hari and Dors, outside the privacy of their own home.
