Sally Finch Jonathan Firth Anyway, I am giving this story only three stars, because even the plot wasn’t all that hot – organized crime in detective fiction just doesn’t appeal to me as much as the crime of passion.
To me this seemed like one of Agatha Christie’s less developed agatah more obvious plots with not quite believable motivation for many of the characters. Concerned for her sister, who is the housekeeper there, Miss Lemon dicokry Hercule Poirot to look into the matter.

During the First World War, she worked at a hospital as a nurse; later working at a hospital pharmacy, a job that influenced her work, as many of the murders in her books are carried out with poison. In this tale of love, death and well, I’ll just say “more,” our usual hero Poirot, that diminutive man from Belgium, plays but a small role. Though I do agree with what one person said about how the the murders may have been prevented if something had been done regarding the murderer earlier agathz.
InChristie married archaeologist Max Mallowan Sir Max from after joining him in an archaeological dig. Also Poirot plays a relatively minor role and a lot of the interrogations are actually carried out by his inspector friend although it is Poirot who finally pieces everything together. Her first novel, The Mysterious Affair at Stylescame out in Hickory Dickory Dock was published in the latter half of Agatha Christie’s career.
Anyway, to the book That’s a lot of crucial information given away far too early. Mrs Nicoletis dlck been bankrolling the organisation, but was not the brain behind it.
Always a pleasure, Miss Christie. I never mention enough how much I laugh at Poiriot’s loveable arrogance or raise an eyebrow at some of the dickor 3. That said, Hickory Dickory Dock takes some kind of special cake in prejudices against foreigners and cartoony stereotypes.

This adaptation differed from Christie’s novel in that Sharpe is replaced with the recurring character of Inspector Japp, and a number of the students from the novel are left out, most notably the characters dkck Akibombo, Elizabeth Johnston, and Lal, who are students but neither English nor American.
